AMS Instrumentation and Calibration presents the McCrometer V-Cone Flow Meter, an advanced differential pressure flow meter with patented technology. The McCrometer V-Cone can accurately measure the flow of a variety of fluids, in all kinds of conditions, over a wide range of Reynolds numbers.
The McCrometer V-Cone Flow Meters feature a centrally-located cone inside the tube that interacts with the fluid flow, which reshapes the fluid’s velocity profile and creates a region of lower pressure immediately downstream. The pressure difference, exhibited between the static line pressure and the low pressure created downstream of the cone, can be measured through two pressure sensing taps.
The cone’s central position optimises the velocity profile of the flow at the point of measurement to provide highly accurate flow measurement, regardless of the condition of the flow upstream of the meter. The differential pressure created by the McCrometer V-Cone flow meter will increase and decrease with the flow velocity.
The McCrometer V-Cone Flow Meters, available from AMS Instrumentation and Calibration, can function closer to upstream disturbances compared to other differential pressure flow meters. The recommended installation for the McCrometer V-Cone Flow Meters are zero to three diameters of straight run upstream and zero to one diameters downstream.
