THE Eutech dissolved oxygen probe, from AMS Technical Services , is a galvanic measuring element, which produces a millivolt output that is proportional to the oxygen present in the medium.
It consists of a cathode, anode and cable, a cap with membrane and electrolyte.
Oxygen diffuses through the membrane onto the cathode, where it reacts chemically and then combines with the anode. This chemical process develops an electrical current, which is converted into millivolts. It is this millivolt signal that is input to the meter.
The DO meter has advanced rapidly with the development of electronic technologies.
Today's DO controllers harness the power of Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) microprocessors that enable enhanced specifications in control and monitoring abilities while offering a high level of user friendliness.
Advances in flexible manufacturing systems, including Surface Mount Technologies and concepts of Zero Defect and Total Quality Control, have resulted in versatile, reliable and low cost products.
These advances have been a boon to today's industrialist and engineers who are now in an enviable position where they enjoy both the sophistication and cost effectiveness of modern DO controllers.
