AFC Group has designed a new 1RU rack mount sliding enclosure that provides a significant advantage in the installation of optical fibres, specifically loose tube cable. The new 1RU-MOD-SS features an internal cable management system that enables complete fibre and tube protection.
The fibres are fully supported by a flexible conduit tail connecting the fixed enclosure chassis with the sliding tray. The cable entering the enclosure is anchored at the rear on the chassis and once installed will remain static with tray movement. Any chance of jamming, kinking or squashing of the fibres or tubes is eliminated throughout the opening and closing of the tray.
The new enclosure is suitable for the direct termination, fusion splicing and patching of up to 24 fibres. It is fitted with left and right angled cable entries and accommodates two removable front coupler panels. Its modular design provides the flexibility to choose from a variety of adapter types, including ST, SC, SC Duplex, FC, MTRJ, LC and VF45. Splice cassettes and fibre fan-out kits are easily fitted through pre-installed mountings.
All AFC fibre optic rack enclosures are Australian made. They are supplied with adjustable 3-position mounting ears, a comprehensive accessory kit and detailed installation documentation. The optional front tray offers additional patch cord protection.
AFC Group offer an extensive range of 19" rack mount and wall mount enclosures to help make fibre optic installations efficient and professionally finished. The protection of the delicate fibres during installation and re-opening of enclosures, especially sliding enclosures, is of utmost importance.
