ADT Security have used customer feedback for the foundation of their newly designed range of reusable hard tags for retailers.
Due to valuable customer input, the Sensormatic Apparel Tag (Ultra Tag AT) has been developed to address retailers’ key requirements – easy to use, highly secure and minimal impact on product presentation. Incorporating Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), the tag will alert retail staff by setting off an alarm if a tagged item is removed from the store without first being deactivated.
According to a recent survey, in 20071 womenswear was the third largely stolen item from Asia-Pacific retailers. Although retailers’ main security method was EAS across all types of products, trousers, shirts and shoes were mostly unprotected, providing ample opportunity for thieves.
The lightweight Apparel Tag is the first generation of the Sensormatic Ultra Tag range and can be used on any type of material from thick denim to delicate lace. Sleek and compact, the tag provides a visual deterrent without detracting from the presentation of the item.
The Apparel Tag’s design minimises the ability to break it using hands or tools. At the checkout however, the apparel tag can be simply and quickly removed by staff using a small profile decoupler. Its discreet size maximises space at the point-of-sale and allows it to be either recessed or secured to the counter top.
