Mean Well has made the switch from nickel to galvanised steel in the production of their enclosed range of power supplies.

Reinforcing Mean Well’s commitment to becoming a comprehensive Green Enterprise, this initiative is expected to completely eliminate the environmental pollution associated with nickel plating.

Mean Well had long used nickel plated punched steel for its enclosed range of power supplies. When the polluting aspect of the nickel plating process from sulphides and phosphides was discovered, Mean Well made the call to move away from using nickel plating steel to hot-dipped galvanised steel instead, starting with the RS-100 range.

Mean Well additionally benefits from the better resistance of hot dipped galvanised steel to corrosion compared with nickel plated steel.

Mean Well products are exclusively available in Australia from ADM Instrument Engineering
