According to Universal Water, the water re-use systems for the domestic market have been focused on ‘exploitative advertising strategies’ that appeal to consumers’ feelings of guilt about their water use. This makes consumers buy the products, even when these systems are substandard or unreliable.
Universal Water observe that buyers of their three main water saver products, GreyMate, GreyBoss and Flick, have decided to re-use water around the home.
Universal Water mention the one-piece moulded flow path design used in the Universal Flick rainwater harvesting diversion system that is available from ADG Global Supply (a suitable tank for toilet water management system) to eliminate leaks. Universal Water use wet testing and quality assurance processes on their products.
Another product developed for the new home market is GreyBoss, a whole-of-house underground greywater diversion system designed for slab construction in new buildings and developments. GreyBoss recently won Greywater Product of the Year (2008) at the Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association excellence awards.
