ABB has launched the IRB 1410 ArcPack robotic welding package. This state-of-the-art package contains all the components necessary to undertake automated robotic arc welding of steel.
The IRB 1410 ArcPack is a standard package for arc welding of steel, with mixed gas and solid wires, and is suitable for general industrial applications.
The package is intended for one-robot cells, plus small and medium-sized batches in single, or double-shift operations.
The IRB 1410 ArcPack incorporates a number of quality ABB components, including the innovative IRB 1410 arc welding robot.
It also incorporates an ABB IRC5 single cabinet controller, welding power source, welding gun and wire feed system.
The control and drive modules of the cabinet controller are integrated into one cabinet and are designed for single-robot cells. The controller is supplemented by a flex-pendant interface unit, which supports ABB's single point of programming/operation for both the robot and power source.
The power source utilised in the ArcPack package is an inverter type welding power source IB350, which provides constant voltage and is designed for high-quality, robotic MIG/MAG welding.
It provides a stable and virtually spatter free arc, resulting in high-quality welds and productivity in short and spray arc modes.
The ArcPack package also includes an Abirob 350GC welding gun for gas cooling, while the A314E wire feed system included in the package incorporates a wire feeder unit and dress package, which provides all the necessary media for the welding process.
Craig Taylor, ABB Australia's Arc Welding Robots sales manager said the IRB 1410 ArcPack made robot automation, as a means of improving efficiency, economically viable for customers' in general industrial applications.
“As with all ABB Automation products, the package can help businesses to increase productivity and performance while reducing environmental impact," he said.
"The IRB 1410 ArcPack is user friendly, highly accurate, competitively priced and can be easily accessed due to ABB's local commitment in Australia.”
