ABB has introduced Analyser IT Explorer, a new software tool which helps plant user to effectively operate and maintain installed process analysis technology and avoid downtime caused by unanticipated events.

The prerequisite is rapid, comprehensive information acquisition from the process. In this connection, ABB's process gas analysers are equipped with an Ethernet port which allows direct, continuous computer aided data retrieval from the connected instruments. The extent of the data is beyond that which conventional analysers can make available.

A large number of integrated functions are used to obtain a good picture of the entire analytical measuring chain, from gas sampling to sample conditioning and from gas analysis to sample return or disposal of the sample gas.

External process signals such as flows, temperatures, status signals can be linked to ABB analysers via I/O cards. OPC-Servers of external equipment may communicate directly with Analyser IT Explorer.

ABB analysers form the intelligent nodes in the process which the Analyser IT Explorer can access data of the respective measuring chain.

The Analyser IT Explorer displays the process in clearly arranged tree diagrams and status messages in a conspicuous place. It reliably visualises all measured values and auxiliary variables, and clearly displays detailed text messages from the instruments. Optionally, messages can be sent as an e-mail or SMS to selected mobile telephones.

The Analyser IT Explorer also reads out complete analyser logbook entries and stores them in files and allows the complete remote operation of ABB analysers. It enables high-speed digital access to the entire instrument documentation and supports the storage of individual reports on the instruments.

A comfortable graphical trend chart recorder is also included and the Analyser IT Explorer continuously records selected data. Access is provided to websites through an integrated browser and instruments of outside suppliers can be directly integrates via an OPC client function.

Analyser IT Explorer is a suitable tool for analytical maintenance teams.

ABB provides analytical and advanced solutions worldwide with laboratory, at-line and on-line process analysers systems. These integrated systems provide real-time analysis of chemical and physical properties for process monitoring and control applications.
