ABB Australia supplying transformers to Integral Energy is set to continue with a recent contract award, for up to 32 x 45 MVA 132kV power transformers which will be supplied over a period of five years.
This contract award was achieved after ABB Australia was accepted as a member of Integral Energy’s panel of suppliers for power transformers.
The ABB Australia front end sales team were also having two new regional power transformer focus factories accredited to supply Integral Energy.
Douglas Pitt, executive vice president explains: "In recent times, ABB Australia has been supplying power transformers to Integral Energy from the Bangkok factory in Thailand.
“However during this recent evaluation process, it was proposed that in addition to the Bangkok source, ABB Australia should offer to supply power transformers from the Hanoi Vietnam factory and to make Zhong Shan factory in China available as a back up for both Hanoi and Bangkok."
"We’re extremely proud of this achievement as Integral Energy not only looked for a company with the technical competence to make excellent power transformers, but ABB Australia also had to demonstrate a high standard for quality assurance, occupational health and safety and social equity for employees,” adds Douglas Pitt.
The evaluation of the Hanoi and Zhong Shan facilities involved representatives from Integral Energy travelling to these two locations to inspect and accredit these new factories to be a supply source.
