ABB Australia celebrates the 40,000th pole-mount capacitor vacuum switch manufactured at ABB’s Lilydale factory in Victoria.
Pole-mount capacitor vacuum switches are suited for use in medium voltage power distribution systems. They offer operators superior interrupting capabilities and the ability to withstand high temperatures with long switching life and lower lifecycle costs.
“Since the first pole-mount capacitor vacuum switch was manufactured in 2004, local and global markets acceptance has been excellent and the production volume has continued to grow year on year,” says Chris Geeves, ABB’s manager for high voltage products in Australia.
“ABB’s innovative design and investment in perfecting the manufacturing process to guarantee the structural and electrical integrity of its switches, has resulted in a unique product that offers superior performance and reliability, which customers around the world have recognised.”
The pole-mounted capacitor vacuum switches are designed, assembled and tested at the ABB Lilydale factory and has been imported to all areas of the world, including Africa, North and South America, Pacific Islands and Baltic States.
The pole-mounted capacitor vacuum switches, designed and manufactured by ABB Australia, are a solid diecletric single-phase vacuum switch, which is specifically designed in accordance with ANSI C37.66 for heavy duty operation in capacitor-switching applications.
