A Class Metal Finishers , a market leading job shop supplying electroplating and metal polishing services, has just completed a mentoring program aimed at assisting the company to re-define its future and its succession plans.
Amanda Wood, Managing Director of A Class, engaged the mentors through the “Knowledge Plus” mentoring program. Even though A Class's growth has outstripped most companies in their industry, Amanda says she needed to find ways to re-invigorate the company's marketing and form new growth and succession plans.
“The mentors were great at challenging our thinking and forcing us to view situations from different perspectives. You learn a lot just listening to their experiences” she said. “Because they were each from very different businesses there was a strong cross-fertilisation of ideas”.
The mentors (pictured) were Les Leane, Knowledge Pus lead mentor; Dean Rossiter, Rossi Boots; John Hender, Perpetual Wealth Management and John Kassara, Tagara Builders.
Wood also says that even though A Class Metal Finishers has been around for almost 20 years they are always learning. “We would never have made it to 20 years if we weren't willing to learn and embrace new ideas. Learning and innovation is important when looking for new ways to satisfy our customers' future needs”. The company is currently expanding its service range outside the traditional plating and polishing services to include new spray finishing and restorative surface treatments.
