Formero  congratulates Matthew Sleeth, one of their talented customers who recently won the Siemens-RMIT Fine Art Award for his 3D printed sculpture of the Southern Star Observation wheel.

Matthew based his winning work entitled ‘Scale Model for Still Life’ on a Wheel site located on the way to his studio.

Matthew approached Formero over a year ago when he translated his concept of a photographic moment to a 3D CAD drawing.

Formero produced a solid, detailed reproduction of the 3D CAD drawing in Dura Max White material using 3D Stereolithography (SLA) prototyping technology.

Matthew is a well known Melbourne-based artist working in a range of media including photography, video, sculpture and public installation.

His photographs have been widely exhibited throughout Australia as well as in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Frankfurt.

Matthew is represented in the collection of the State Libraries of NSW and Victoria, Performing Arts Museum and the National Portrait Gallery.
