Each year, automotive engineering students from around the world enter the Formula SAE University student competition to design, produce and race a small formula-style racing car.
ARRK believe that engineering students of today are the future talent which industry will draw on to address future challenges. ARRK are focused in developing relationships with these students early-on to support them in their future successes. This year, ARRK manufactured air-intake manifolds for 3 Formulae SAE teams using Selective Laser Sintering. This enabled their air-intakes to be manufactured in 2 pieces, rather than the multiple of pieces that would have been required to be manufactured and glued using other more traditional manufacturing techniques.
SLS models being durable; enable these 3 teams to not only test their designs, but to use the actual SLS air-intakes in the race itself. FORMULA SAE-A 2008 will be held at Victoria University, Werribee Campus, Melbourne.
