Leading supplier of CAD solutions for the MCAD and AEC industries, ZWCAD Design has introduced new 3D features for ZWCAD+ 2015. The two features in the new version 2015, Sweep and Loft add up to a more complete 2D to 3D design workflow for ZWCAD+, making basic 3D design in 2DCAD easier and more productive.

Sweep and Loft features allow a model to be created by sweeping an open or closed planar curve, along an open or closed path or by specifying a series of cross sections. In ZWCAD+ 2015, the user can simply draft a cross section, and click the Sweep and Loft function to transform their 2D model into 3D quickly.

The newly added features Sweep and Loft have enhanced the whole 2D to 3D design workflow in ZWCAD+ 2015, which includes full ACIS modelling and editing, ACIS viewing, 3D orbit, rendering as well as visual style (Hide & Shade).

The addition of these new features is based on in-depth research of user need. Acquiring a 3D CAD software application to achieve 3D design while doing 2D drafting work is unadvisable. Even when users manage to get affordable and less sophisticated 3D software, file compatibility can become a problem, causing issues with cross-platform design coordination.

However, with the enhanced workflow in ZWCAD+ 2015, users can accomplish their 2D and 3D cross-over design tasks easily and efficiently within the same software, saving lots of cross-platform communication efforts.

According to Product Manager Daniel Huang, the new 3D features in ZWCAD+ 2015 add up to a more complete and useful 3D design workflow, easing the user’s design and cost burden.
