German manufacturer WITT-Gasetechnik GmbH & Co KG presents two new models of gas non return valves in its current 600H and 800-ES series, designed specifically for applications in the high pressure range.
Gas non-return valves or check valves are designed to protect systems, outlet points and pipelines against unwanted and potentially hazardous gas mixtures. Typical applications for gas non-return valves include all systems, pressure control stations and pipes conveying inflammable gases, or any application where a reverse gas flow could form unwanted and dangerous mixtures resulting in an explosion. Gas non-return valves prevent such incidents by stopping a sudden gas flow in an unwanted direction.
The 600H series gas check valves can be used for combustible gases, oxygen and non-flammable gases. This check valve has a particularly sensitive mechanism, reacting from about 250 mbar (3.6 psi) opening pressure. Key features include brass housing; maximum operating overpressure of 40 bar (580 psi); compact dimensions and position-independent installation allowing for a broad spectrum of applications; ambient temperature of 70°C; and several connection sizes with G threads available. It is also available in a stainless steel version (600H-ES).
The 800-ES gas check valves can withstand pressures as high as 300 bar (4350 psi) when used with combustible gases, or 240 bar (3480 psi) when used with oxygen. Key features include stainless steel housing; suitability for a large number of technical and corrosive gases; can be installed independently of environmental constraints, allowing ambient temperature to be up to 150°C with fuel gases and 60°C with oxygen; spring-loaded valve system with elastomer seal maximising leak-tight performance; and opening at 2 bar (29 psi) and above.
The compact design of the 800-ES gas check valves allows installation in space constrained applications. The valve weighs 730 grams and measures less than 70mm in length and only 18mm in diameter. The 800-ES has a standard ¼-inch NPT thread.
Gas non return valves made by WITT are tested individually for correct functioning before delivery. Dirt filters in the inlet ensure long service life for the valve.
