SYDNEY-based wireless technology developer Etherstack has signed a $1.5m deal with a major brand name wireless equipment manufacturer for its digital radio network technology.

Etherstack’s IP-based core digital radio network technology will be used in the brand’s radio network products, which are typically deployed in the business and industry sectors such as transportation, ports, hospitals, campuses and resources.

The digital radio networks used in these applications conform to a new digital radio standard known as DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) published by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) which is being widely adopted around the world.

Etherstack’s technology allows the formation of wide-area networks, allowing, for example, an airline operator’s ground-based communications systems at different airports to be linked.

Etherstack is a wireless technology company specialising in licensing mission critical radio technologies to equipment manufacturers and network operators around the globe. It has R&D facilities in London, Sydney, New York, Yokohama and Berlin.
