Eaton has launched an Australian-developed, wall-mount power system ideal for users in the industrial control, electrical switching and telecommunications industries.

Traditionally, DC power systems have been rack mounted or assembled in large floor cubicles. These new wall-mount power systems are packaged in a format that fit in small spaces. The form factor is claimed to better suit industrial control and electrical switching boards, as well as small service closets.

Other features include the power systems’ new monitoring and control capabilities. The wall mount power system is able to be configured for either AC Mains or Solar PV Power allowing for a single power system type for both scenarios.Another feature is that Eaton’s battery backup and redundancy can support the majority of process controls systems that use PLCs, valves, solenoids, switches and sensors that are powered from 24Vdc or 48Vdc.

Key technical specs include:

  • AC Supply: 100-240V, 50-60Hz (nominal)

  • Efficiency: APR48-ES: >96% peak

  • DC Output Power: 48V: 2.00kW (42A)

  • Operating Temperature Range: - 40°C to +70°C
  • Communication Features:
    - USB direct10BaseT Ethernet, TCP/IP, SNMP, Modbus-TCP, Modbus RTU and on board web server- RS232 to external PSTN or GSM modem (modem not included)

Eaton’s wall-mount power system is designed for the oil and gas, mining, commercial buildings, rail and transportation industries, as well as system integrators and switch board builders, or any business that designs and manufactureslarge turnkey process control systems. .
