AUSTRALIAN telecommunications manufacturer Beam Communications says it has received Inmarsat approval for its range of satellite handset docking stations.

The Beam IsatDock 2 Docking Stations are intended for use with the Inmarsat IsatPhone satellite handset.

According to Beam Communications, by developing and manufacturing this additional docking station, it has enhanced its position as the provider of one of the broadest ranges of satellite equipment in the marketplace.

The range of docking stations include variants for maritime, vehicular, in-building and a low-cost universal solution.

Beam says it will start commercial shipments of its new docking stations before the end of 2014.

Beam Communications is a wholly owned subsidiary of World Reach Limited, and designs, manufactures and distributes a range of Iridium and Inmarsat Satellite voice, data, M2M and satellite accessories for the global telecommunications market.
