The world's leading trade fair for electronic components, systems and applications, electronica is celebrating its 50th birthday this year.
Since 1964, electronica has been showing the electronic trends of tomorrow and providing a comprehensive overview of the international industry. From November 11 to 14, 2014, the key topics at the electronica 2014 will be automotive, embedded systems, lighting and medical electronics, as well as the overarching themes of security and energy efficiency.
The electronica show began 50 years ago with the founding of Messe München. An initiative of U.S. companies, the trade fair soon evolved into the top event of the electronics industry. More than any other trade show, it has offered a complete overview of the market for decades, encompassing the entire range of the electronics industry, from components and systems via applications to electronics services.
An insight into the major developments in the world of electronics over the past five decades is compiled in the electronica anniversary film.
This year, about 2,700 exhibitors from all over the world will be presenting their products and services. In 2012, 73,051 visitors from 79 countries attended the exhibition.
The key topics in 2014 are automotive, embedded systems, medical electronics and lighting, as well as the overarching themes of security and energy efficiency.
