One of the industry’s most global and comprehensive trade shows, IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014 will be held in Hanover from September 23 to October 2.

WABCO Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jacques Esculier explained that the company will demonstrate all the vehicle safety technologies that differentiate WABCO as a leading supplier to every major manufacturer of trucks, buses and trailers in every region of the world. Key innovations on display include the market-leading OnGuard autonomous emergency braking systems and Electronic Stability Control as well as several new products such as OnLane lane departure warning with driver drowsiness alert and mBSP, a breakthrough modular braking system platform.

He noted that these technologies will further help the commercial vehicle industry improve the safety performance of fleets worldwide.

WABCO will showcase numerous leading safety and driver assistance technologies from its portfolio of industry-firsts and major innovations at the IAA 2014. Differentiating WABCO products and systems on display at IAA 2014 will include:

OnGuardPLUS is an advanced emergency braking system (AEBS) for trucks and buses that detects moving, decelerating and stationary vehicles ahead, alerts the driver via acoustic, visual and haptic signals, and autonomously applies the brakes and can bring the vehicle to a complete stop, helping to prevent or mitigate rear-end collisions.

Hydraulic ABS with ESCsmart

Hydraulic ABS with ESCsmart is a new generation of hydraulic anti-lock braking system (ABS) that integrates seamlessly with electronic stability control (ESC) for light- and medium-duty commercial vehicle platforms worldwide.

OnLane is a camera-based lane departure warning system featuring a new optional functionality of driver drowsiness alert that continuously monitors the vehicle’s position within lane markings and detects weaving driving behaviour that could indicate driver drowsiness. It alerts the driver via acoustic and visual warning, improving driver attentiveness, as well as overall vehicle and road safety.

mBSP is a modular braking system platform (mBSP) enabling commercial vehicle manufacturers worldwide to interchangeably equip their diverse global truck and bus platforms with anti-lock braking (ABS) or electronic braking (EBS) systems based on regional market or regulatory requirements.

TailGUARD is an advanced driver assistance system that combines the functions of rear blind-spot monitoring and automatic braking, using up to six ultrasonic sensors to identify even small stationary or moving objects hidden in the vehicle’s blind spot. A proven safety technology for trailers since 2010, TailGUARD is now available for the first time for trucks and buses.

TX-ECO, Transics International’s driver performance management system is a fleet management solution that helps commercial vehicle fleet operators improve vehicle safety and operational efficiency. TX-ECO records seven driving style indicators including excessive speeding and hard braking, which provides the foundation for data-based driver training and improved safety performance for fleets.

WABCO is exhibiting in Hall 16 Booth B10 at IAA Commercial Vehicles 2014, Hanover Exhibition Centre, Hanover, Germany.
