Rigaku Corporation has introduced the new Smart Sample Loading System for use on its ZSX Primus wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) spectrometers.
Developed in response to market needs for higher unattended throughput and improved accuracy of data transmission to reduce or eliminate sample tracking errors, the Smart Sample Loading System allows holderless sample handling on the deck of the ZSX Primus WDXRF platform. Samples are placed face down on the deck in stadium placeholders designed to maintain the analytical integrity of the analysis surface while accommodating the maximum number of analysable samples on the deck for automated analysis.
The Smart Sample Loading System completes Rigaku’s line of automation solutions on their high-throughput WDXRF spectrometers and renders all Rigaku spectrometers capable of variable levels of automation to suit customers’ throughput and data accuracy needs.
Key capabilities and benefits of the new sample loading system include improved productivity from increased number of samples on deck at any given time and direct transfer of samples to the analysis port; flexible combination of sample trays to accommodate different sizes and types of samples; automated analysis interface via the ZSX software, which can communicate with analytical system control computers, enabling continuous sample feed from automated sample preparation systems; and optional integrated barcode reader to reduce labour requirements and improve data transcription accuracy.
