Nichia files patent infringement suit against Arrow


Nichia Corporation has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against LED products manufactured by Everlight Electronics of Taiwan and sold by Arrow in Australia.

On June 3, 2014, Nichia Corporation filed the patent infringement lawsuit in Australia at the Federal Court of Australia, New South Wales District Registry seeking an injunction to restrain Arrow Electronics Australia Pty Ltd from infringing Nichia’s YAG patent (Australian Patent No. 720234) and claiming damages or an account of profits for the infringement with regards to LED products with the respective product numbers below manufactured by Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd., an LED assembly manufacturer in Taiwan, and imported and sold by Arrow in Australia.

The product numbers include: 62-217D/QK2C-S5050R1R3B42Z15/2T; 62-217D/QK2C-S5757R1R3B42Z15/2T; 62-217D/QK2C-S6565R1R3B42Z15/2T; and 45-21S/KK2C-S5757L1L4B2Z3/2T.

Nichia will continue to take necessary measures worldwide to protect its patents and other intellectual property rights against any manufacturer that infringes Nichia’s patents.
