Bundaberg-based Microair Avionics is expanding its products to include in-flight entertainment systems.

The local NewsMail reports that the move came about after Microair acquired Brisbane’s Total Aviation Solutions last year. TAS had earlier acquired US company digEcor, a maker of in-flight entertainment.

“With the assistance of Microair's manufacturing expertise, a new product, Glide, has been undergoing development with the first batch of units to shortly be installed into commercial flights in the US," Microair’s business manager Jeanette Nock told NewsMail.

Glide is a portable, in-flight system that can present movies, games, maps and other features to passengers.

Microair describes its products as “designed by pilots for pilots”, developed and manufactured locally for Australian and export markets.
