Man to face trial over Holden parts theft

Editorial

A man will face court next month over the theft of 140 V8 engines and 175 transmissions from Holden’s Elizabeth plant.

The ABC reports that Darren Charles Thorne faced the District Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to money laundering.

The goods stolen over a two-year period were reportedly worth $2 million.

The seven arrested, including one former Holden worker, are alleged to have participated in stealing selling, or laundering proceeds, and most – including Thorne –will face court again in October.
