Kemppi has introduced a system enabling welding machinery to be configured using a mobile device.
According to the Finland-based company in a statement today, its new system will enable welding equipment to be re-configured using a tablet or smartphone running on an Android platform.
“With the clear Mobile Control interface, all welding settings can be made easily, precisely, and quickly,” said Jussi Kapanen, the company’s UX manager.
“The user can see and control everything from basic welding settings (such as wire feed or voltage fine tuning) to the most advanced settings.”
The development was first displayed at the Essen 2013 European welding trade show.
According to Kemppi, there are significant time-saving benefits offered by the new system.
“Now the welder can select a predefined configuration and just copy it to the devices - in any number. The time savings are remarkable, and the bigger the fleet, the bigger the savings.
“Plus, later maintenance and checking of the current settings are fast and easy.”
