Multinational design and engineering consultancy Hyder Consulting announces its acquisition of PLD Consulting Pty Ltd.
This is the third acquisition for Hyder’s Australasian business in the last 18 months. Hyder had earlier acquired BCH Engineering in December 2012 and GW Engineering in March 2012.
The company’s Australasian Managing Director, Greg Steele describes the expansion as a vital step in Hyder’s plan to grow and diversify into attractive markets.
A Queensland based consultancy specialising in the design of high voltage overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines both in Australia and internationally, PLD employs approximately 25 people providing specialist power design services to the mining and energy sectors.
Welcoming PLD to the Hyder family, Greg said that the acquisition accelerates their entry into the growing energy sector in Australia, and fits well with their global energy sector plans. Hyder’s client focus is aligned with PLD’s strong commitment to clients.
PLD Managing Director, Andrew Wiklund believes the key to success will be to maintain the close personal relationships developed with existing clients. Backed by Hyder’s strong reputation, PLD is confident of offering a more diversified range of services.
