Appliance manufacturer Fisher & Paykel is continuing its expansion in New Zealand and will upgrade its East Tamaki and Dundein sites.
The company will revamp the East Tamaki site to accommodate its growing Auckland based research and development team. It will become a state-of-the-art development and design facility.
“This new state-of-the-art facility will contain our product development and industrial design teams and includes a full suite of quality and standards testing laboratories. This purpose built facility underlines our long-term commitment to Research and Development in New Zealand,” Fisher & Paykel Chief Executive Stuart Broadhurst said in a statement.
The company announced last week that it also plans to expand its Dunedin site.
“The expanded site would include upgraded facilities to accommodate our growing research and development team in the city,” Broadhurst said.
As Stuff.co.nz reports, the expansion follows the announcement of 80 new engineering roles to be filled in Dunedin and Auckland.
“We’ll continue to focus on developing the Fisher & Paykel, Elba and DCS brands in New Zealand, Australia and North America, as well as boosting our presence in the emerging markets of China and India,” Broadhurst said.
