A 37 year-old man has been found dead in his room at the Gateway Village in South Hedland.

The discovery was made by cleaners prior to sunrise on Saturday morning.

St John Ambulance were notified but could not resuscitate the man.

Police have said they believe the man had committed suicide, as it appeared to be a hanging incident.
