Custom Mould Plastics has acquired Tridonic Manufacturing Australia.

Tridonic, Austrian-headquartered and partof Zumbotel Group, is a manufacturer of products including electronic ballasts, LED modules and lighting management systems. It was established in 1956.

“We are delighted that we have succeeded in selling our magnetic ballasts plant in Australia to Custom Mould Plastics not least because this creates good prospects for our long-standing staff in Melbourne,” said Alfred Felder, CEO of Tridonic, in a statement.

“And in Custom Mould Plastics the Australian lighting market will have an ongoing source of supply for its magnetic control gear requirements.”

All jobs at the Tullamarine site will remain.

“The Tridonic facility is equipped with the most cutting edge technology and amazing people filled with the training and experience that can surpass any first-class manufacturing facility around the world,” said Vic Andronovski, managing director of CMP Controls, the Custom Mould Plastics brand that will make ballasts at the site.
