According to a number of CEOs spoken to by a national newspaper, executives are hoping that the next party or parties to form government will have a clear mandate and the ability to restore confidence among consumers and business.

According to The Australian, many business leaders are hoping that confidence will be restored by the end of the current hung Parliament situation.

"The best thing for consumer confidence is that there is a decisive victory for one or other of the other parties -- I believe that will have a big impact on consumer confidence," Terry Davis, the CEO of Coca Cola Amatil told The Australian.

Ted Pretty of Hills Holdings offered that it would be best for whoever formed the next government after Saturday’s election to control both the Senate and lower house.
