The new CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, Deidre Willmott will chair the Plenary session at the Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (AOG) this week.
Ms Willmott will officially commence her new role as CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in March after a successful period as the Executive Chairman at Cannings Purple Strategic Communications. She is also the former chief of staff to Premier Colin Barnett and Director of External Relations at Fortescue Metals Group Ltd.
The Plenary session will hear high-profile speakers from organisations leading some of Australasia’s biggest projects on the issues facing the sector, including low productivity and the high cost of doing business.
Key speakers at the Plenary session will include Hon. Bill Marmion - WA Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Andrew Smith - Country Chair Australia, Shell; and Gerry Flaherty - General Manager, Asset Development, Chevron Australia.
Hon. Bill Marmion will open the morning session on Wednesday, 19 February, with a discussion on how industry and the government can work together to cut green and red tape, improve productivity, and address skills shortages. Following his presentation, Country Chair of Shell in Australia Andrew Smith will give an Australian industry perspective, with General Manager Asset Development of Chevron Australia, Gerry Flaherty, closing the session with a discussion on Chevron’s technology solutions, including those developed by its Perth-based Global Technology Centre (GTC).
The AOG exhibition runs from 19 to 21 February and will feature over 150 conference speakers covering 15 difference conference streams.
