Design software company Adobe has added 3D printing to its Photoshop program suite.

AP reports that the option would be part of an upgrade to Adobe’s Creative Cloud subscription-based software.

The announcement earlier this week also came with news that Adobe was linking with printing bureau operator Shapeways.

“With 3D printing now available in Photoshop, it's easy to create, refine, and preview your design, and then print models directly to a locally connected 3D printer or other online service,” according to Adobe.

The 3D printing upgrade is available exclusively with the Creative Cloud, and not the standalone version of Photoshop.

Forbes notes that Creative Cloud plans start at $US 9.99 a month with a free 30-day trial.
