Arrium has announced that it will make 20 per cent of the workers at its Waratah site redundant.

AAP reports that the workers would lose their jobs before June 14, with decreased sales of grinding media to Indonesia and sales of rail wheels predicted to be down by a quarter in the year’s second half.

The company predicts that making 120 jobs redundant would save $14 million annually after an initial $15 million cost for FY 2014.
