RFID enabled automated label printer applicators

WITH the uptake of RFID labelling in more and more businesses everyday, automated label printer applicators can now have the added features of RFID tag encoding, reading and verification as well as standard barcode label print and apply functions.

RFID enabled label printer applicators can now be fitted with an additional RFID tag feeder that will collect an RFID tag, encode the desired data into the tag and then verify that the data is readable, all before applying the RFID tag to the label.

Once the RFID tag has been encoded and verified, the label applicator then applies the RFID tagged label to the product.

With quality applicator manufacturer brands, such as Weber available from Peacock Bros , this whole process can be completed in the same time and at the same speed as normally required in printing and applying a standard barcode label.

The tag verification process will also ensure that all RFID tagged labels applied to products are 100% readable and accurate.

In cases such as the Weber 5200 label printer applicator, some existing label printer applicators can be upgraded with RFID encoders, saving money in the conversion process to RFID enabled systems.

Many RFID enabled label printer applicators can support all classes of UHF RFID tags and meet EPC class and Gen 2 protocols.
