Swagelok releases Variable Area Flowmeters (7-Aug-2008)
Swagelok has released a range of Variable Area Flowmeters. The Variable Area Flowmeters are used to measure the flow rate of liquids and gases by means of a tapered tube and float.
HENROB is currently working with the automotive sector to provide fastening solutions for manual and robotic self-pierce (SP) riveting on the production line.
New applications include the latest Landrover Discovery and Range Rover Sport models. Land Rover use SP rivets as the principal method for the tail gate assemblies due to its high strength, fatigue resistance and compatibility with adhesives offered by the process. All rivets are applied robotically in a production cell consisting of 15 tools, where either the tools are manipulated by robot to the part, or the part manipulated through the tool head.
Aston Martin AM-V8 and DB9 models use an aluminium chassis construction and have adopted over 200 M5 and M6 self-pierce studs throughout the chassis as earthing points and for trim attachment.
The studs replace the weld studs normally used in similar applications on steel bodies and meet all the required standards.
