Vehicle-mounted telescopic conveyor

CONCRETE Pumping Equipment Australia has released a vehicle-mounted materials handling telescopic conveyor with a reach close to 40m.

The ‘Telebelt’ can convey almost any material from sand up to 100mm size rock, with a capacity of up to 275m³/hr.

The reach of a Telebelt enables speedy backfilling without the use of loaders or excavators that often disturb or damage site materials such as Geotex fabrics.

A Telebelt has the added advantage of being able to convey and place previously unpumpable concrete products, unpumpable concrete maybe a very low slump concrete, no fines concrete, concrete which contains fibers [Fibrecrete] or concrete with a larger than normal aggregate size.

The telescopic extendable conveyor means there is no arm unfolding while working in height restricted areas, as there is with boom pumps and excavators. The utility of the Telebelt means the conveyor can be used for all manner of materials on the one site, at different time when required. Telebelt booms can extend and retract while placing material. The largest in the Telebelt range is the TB-130 with over 38m of horizontal reach of which there are now three working in Australia: two with Belt Conveyors Australia a division of Brisbane Concrete Pumping in Brisbane, and one with Rowland Contracting in Perth.

A special purpose built 8 x 4 carrier is used for mounting the TB-130 while the TB-110 is mounted on the locally produced Iveco, Acco 2350G 8 x 4.

Both the 110 & 130 have continuous conveyors with belts of 457mm [18”] wide three-ply vulcanized spliced belt delivering up to 275m³/hr of product.

There is infinitely variable belt speed control for the operator to select an ideal speed for each task. ‘Telebelts’ can operate up to an angle of 30° and down to an angle of -15° with 360° rotation.

All controls are by a radio remote carried by the operator. A special tungsten carbide scraper system is mounted at the discharge end of each belt ensuring a totally clean return belt.

A ‘Telebelt’ costs around the same as a comparable sized concrete boom pump but is infinitely more versatile from a contractors point of view and operates at around 1/3 the cost of a concrete pump of the same size.
