Rugged laptop meets military standards

APC Technology has released the Getac range of mobile computing products, on display at National Manufacturing Week (Stand number 3118) 10-13th May at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. The M220 laptop runs on Intel's 1.4GHz Dothan LV processor.

14-inch TFT XGA screen, 64MB of video memory and an acid-resistant keyboard.

The processor meets military standards for extreme use and is suitable for applications in sales, field service, utilities, construction, telecommunications as well as in military, police, fire and emergency services applications. It is also suitable for data collection in science, oil and gas exploration and other mobile workforce applications.

The M220 has a powerful processor, low power consumption, large storage capacity, a lightweight design and is easy to use. Additional features include removable hard drives, optical drives or fitment of a second battery giving up to six hours of flat out operation. The keyboard is dirt, dust, and waterproof to IP54, allowing it to survive spills of coffee, oils, or acids.

The laptop has a 14-inch TFT XGA screen, 64MB of video memory and an acid-resistant keyboard. The screen can be sunlight-viewable with an optional anti-glare coating. The laptop can also be fitted with a touch screen, up to 2GB of RAM, a high-capacity HDD, a DVD, CD ROM, or combination floppy/CD drive. A second battery is also available, as is a backlit keyboard, vehicle mounts, GPS, Wireless GSM, GPRS, Bluetooth and wireless LAN.
